Can you replace the starter clutch style recoil starter on a raptor engine with a cup style recoil starter

Old post, but since it wasn't replied to, I'll answer your question.

Yes, you can replace the old style starter clutch with the Eaton style starter cup.  You must, however, cut the snout off of the end of the crankshaft (right at the end of the threads.)  Place the flywheel, cup, thrust washer, and torque nut to 75 foot pounds and you're set to go.  Once you've cut the crank, you can no longer use the old style starter clutch, as the square lug on it needs to center off of the crank snout that you just cut off.  [smile]
